Plasma technology instead of suture and glue in pterygium removal surgery with conjunctival rotational flap; A 1 year follow up Case report

Purpose: To introduce a novel technique using PANIS method (Plasma assisted noninvasive surgery) in pterygium removal surgery with conjunctival rotation flap. Methods: Two patients (1 male, 1 Female) grade 3 and 4 of pterygium, based on SLIT2 grading system, underwent local anesthesia, removing tissue from cornea also all related subtenon. Then surgeon used residual conjunctiva to cover bare sclera rotational method. Fusion the border flaps nasal superior occurred by plasma spots. UCVA, BCVA, OSDI patient satisfaction were evaluated before, month, 6 months year after surgery, as well day week post-operation examinations included slit-lamp external check-up that has been done surgeon. Results: Patients primary Last follow-up session year, showed significant improvement astigmatism line BCVA. There no complications side effects during other reported complication diplopia lateral gaze, granuloma scarring was not observed recurrence have seen period satisfied. Additionally examination spots caused good attachment ocular surface. Conclusion: After treating 2 method, it seems can be substitute for suture or glue flap, because it's easy fast way fusing flap without any effect.
